Richmond is located near the center of Fort Bend County. Most of the city is situated on the southwest side of the Brazos River, with a small portion (Richmond Landing) on the northeast side, connected by US Highway 90A. Richmond is bordered to the southwest by the city of Rosenberg. US 90A leads east 8 miles (13 km) to Sugar Land and west through Rosenberg 19 miles (31 km) to East Bernard. Downtown Houston is 30 miles (48 km) to the northeast.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city of Richmond has a total area of 4.3 square miles (11.1 km2), of which 3.9 square miles (10.2 km2) are land and 0.35 square miles (0.9 km2), or 8.22%, is covered by water.

In 2003, Jeannie Kever of the Houston Chronicle said, “Some of the old buildings have been reincarnated as shops or law offices. But in other ways, life in Richmond isn’t so different from that in the big city, with its Wal-Mart and fast-food joints, check-cashing businesses and strip-center sprawl.” As of 2006 several strip malls are along U.S. Route 59 south of town. During the same year, the community included tack stores, two-lane blacktop roads, and horse ranches. John P. Lopez of the Houston Chronicle said, “Richmond is a city of contradiction and transition. It’s as if the place is not sure if it wants to be a part of Houston’s bustle or remain a slow-paced farm and ranch town. It tries to be both,” and, “It is part Acres Homes, part Fort Bend County Fair.”

This was my first experience with Graceful movers. We were referred by the person we bought furniture from. I called around first but ended up going with them and they did not disappoint. They coordinated between us and the seller and had great communication from beginning to end. They wrapped everything carefully and fully. Kevin, Chris, and Arnoldo where exactly what I wanted in movers they used extra precautions on my fireplace carrying it 3 flights of stairs. I appreciate their diligence.Kevin made sure to stay on time. I did not receive any hinden fees and they gave me a special rate which I was grateful for, Chris was super experienced he and Arnoldo set my sectional up very quickly. Kevin was extremely helpful with all my concerns. I am not a big fan of moving but Kevin, Chris, and Arnoldo made my day go much smoother. Much thanks to these guys

This is a great moving company I have used previously. Everyone is courteous and professional. They really care about your time-frames, your items and making sure you feel comfortable. The quest for a quote is a great way to go if it is after hours. I sent a quote at 5 am and was contacted as soon as they opened and able to arrange something for the same day.What is so remarkable as well is the care in protecting all of your belongings! The floor is covered. Your wood objects are covered and objects wrapped. If you care about your things in this way, it is a great, built-in feature.I completely recommend Graceful Moves!

D and Zion did a great job on the move. They were quick and really efficient. They were even willing to accept my help when I offered which I thought was good. This is the second time we have used Graceful Moves. Our second time was as wonderful as the first. The young men moving us were helpful,thoughtful and extremely professional. They went from room to room disassembling, wrapping and moving each piece of furniture. Very courteous movers and professional too. We had estimated that the move would take about 8 hours, but the movers were done in 6-1/2 hours. And they cleaned up after themselves. You don't get that from most movers.

My husband and I bought a new home and decided to hire Graceful Moves. We HIGHLY recommend them!!! They were very meticulous and cautious of our floors and walls in the process. Exceptional service, prompt, on time, careful with our belongings went above and beyond to ensure things were adequately braced, and protected. They were willing to work with us when Penske totally dropped the ball and didn’t have our truck ready to go and on site 🤦‍♂️. Guys were really friendly and remembered all of our instructions while packing and loading can’t speak more highly of them.

Once again Graceful Movers saved us. Sam, Matt and Kevin (or Kenny?? Sorry I'm bad with names!) All 3 were quick and friendly. Very polite and professional. Had a complex couch from Amazon and they both took it apart and reassembled it for me in no time. They hand wrapped everything that needed protection. They even offered me a nice discount as a returning customer! Thanks to them we have moved into our final home for the next 30 years, but I will be sure to always recommend Graceful Movers. This was by far the smoothest, most stress-free move I’ve ever experienced! I filled out their interest form on their website and within the hour received a call from our moving consultant to take all my information and provide me with a quote. He was EXTREMELY thorough and helpful. Was more than happy to answer any and all of my questions. The quote was very accurate compared to what the final bill came out to be. I called on a Wednesday for a move that needed to happen Friday, and they were able to accommodate even with only 2 days notice. It wasn’t a huge move, just basically one bedroom and bathroom’s worth of furniture and boxes from my aunt’s assisted living facility to a storage unit, which might have had something to do with them being able to squeeze me in last minute. But still, great. And, the day before the move I called and asked if they could possibly add 2 more stops (right along our route) to pick up a large piece of furniture from my Dad’s house and deliver it to my house, and they were able to do it no problem. The movers were right on time and extremely professional. I hadn’t been able to pack everything into boxes like I had planned and they were happy to do it for me. I would definitely hire this company again. Thank you, Graceful Moves!

The moving consultant Ryan was great over the phone and not pushy at all. He explained everything to me, with no hidden fees unlike the other company I contacted. The driver, Kendall was great as well, quick with packing everything into the truck and bringing everything inside at the drop off location. He also asked where should each and every box be placed. Ryan was great with setting up our move and helping me with what all I needed. He didn’t try to sell me something I didn’t need. (I showed him pictures of my storage units and said I didn’t need 2 trucks.) He was gracious with my changing moving date. The 4 guys doing the actual moving were awesome!
